Masters of Ceremony Claire Mongrain and Cole Halenda, both grade 11 drama students at Cawthra Park S.S..led the audience through a very artistic journey of animation entertainment which covered a much wider range of categories from previous years with the biggest increase in the stop motion category.

101 entries from 145 students at 23 high schools were entered in the festival and marked the first large geographic reach of the festival.
Hilites include submission of some excellent interactive games, the Interactive Raffle for games donated by Electronic Arts which students had a blast with and a very animated group of elementary students from Tomken Road S.P.S who prepared a short reel of their animation work for the Sci-Tech program.

Guest speaker Stephen Barnes graced the audience for the 2nd year, telling us about his experience as an animator in many top feature films. Stephen spent 5 years at Pixar in California working on A Bug’s Life, Toy Story 2, Monsters Inc. and Geri’s Game as well as at Lucasarts working on their Gladius game.

We are anticipating Stephen to return as a guest speaker for the 2011 event at the Bloor Cinema in Toronto.
